Carysfort Press

Carysfort Press was formed in the summer of 1998 by Dan Farrelly, then Director of the UCD Drama Studies Centre, Eamonn Jordan and Cathy Leeney, two of the principal lecturers at the Centre, and Lilian Chambers a recent M.A. graduate from the Centre.

The directors believe that drama is playing an ever-increasing role in today's society and that enjoyment of the theatre, both professional and amateur, currently plays a central part in Irish culture. The Press aims to produce high quality publications which, though written and/or edited by academics, will be made accessible to a general readership. Carysfort Press would also like to provide a forum for critical thinking in the Arts in Ireland, again keeping the needs and interests of the general public in view.

Carysfort Press publishes contemporary Irish writing for and about the theatre whether in Irish or English.

Carysfort Press would like to take this opportunity to thank the Arts Council for its continued support, without which many of our publications would not see the light of day.
